Fosse veteran Diane Laurenson has had the privilege of working closely under the direction of Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon in FIVE companies of Bob Fosse’s Dancin’, and on the Broadway and National productions of Big Deal and Sweet Charity.  Alongside Ms. Linda Smith and coached by Bob, Gwen and Chris Chadman, Diane mounted the 2nd National Tour of Dancin’, after which she recreated a stellar production of Sweet Charity starring Donna McKechnie for CA Musical Theatre.  She has also created full productions of West Side Story for the Westbury Music Fair and North Carolina Theatres.  Other Broadway performance credits include Gypsy with Tyne Daly & Linda Lavin, plus the TV Movie starring Bette Midler (Asst Choreographer), Dangerous Games, and The Little Prince with Michael York.  She was the featured Lead Frug Dancer in the star-studded concert version of Sweet Charity at Lincoln Center, starring Gwen Verdon, Chita Rivera, Bebe Neuwirth, Donna McKechnie and Debbie Allen. 


Entertaining audiences worldwide in International, National & Regional productions of West Side Story (Anybodys), Anything Goes (Virtue), 42nd Street (Peggy Sawyer), A Chorus Line (Val/Kristine), and Chicago (Liz), she was a featured player



in Chet Walker’s original Dance Company “8 and ah 1”, performing at Jacob’s Pillow and venues throughout NYC.

Numerous TV, Film and Business Theatre credits include Law & Order, HBO Specials, Age of Innocence, Ghostbusters, the Kennedy Center Honors, Miss America Pageant, The Royal Variety Show, West End Theatre Awards and Milliken Breakfast Show, also working with noted Directors/Choreographers such as Graciela Daniele, Ona White, Jerry Zaks, Billy Wilson, Wayne Cilento, Barry McNabb and Scott Salmon.


As an IATSE stagehand, Diane was Assistant Electrician with Les Misérables on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre, also working backstage on Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera, The Life and Titanic in electrics and sound.


Ms. Laurenson is on Faculty at Broadway Dance Center, specializing in Musical Theatre Dance Performance/History.   She is a guest Master Theatre Dance Instructor at the London Studio Centre,  David Howard Foundation,  and Seattle 5th Ave Theatre’s Outreach & Education Departments, Broadway Street Studio in Buenos Aires, and the Seminario in Mérida & Mexico City, Mexico.


Diane Laurenson is a founding Artistic Director  of The American Musical Theatre Dance Company based in NYC with Bob Richard.
