Diana Laurenson is a Broadway veteran, having worked with some of the most legendary directors and choreographers. She has also recreated entire productions of Dancin', Sweet Charity, and West Side Story.
With a career that included performing in six Broadway shows, and numerous television appearances, she shared her wisdom as a member of the faculties of Broadway Dance Center and Steps on Broadway, in addition to teaching master classes around the globe.
BIOGRAPHY
Diana’s performance credits include: BROADWAY: Sweet Charity (Minskoff Theatre & Lincoln Center), Big Deal, Gypsy, Dangerous Games, The Little Prince. NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL TOURS: West Side Story, Anything Goes, Sweet Charity, Bob Fosse’s Dancin’ (USA, Canada, Italy, France, London), Dangerous Games (La Jolla Playhouse). Regional: West Side Story, 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, Sweet Charity, Chicago, Kennedy Center Honors, Miss America Pageant, The Royal Variety Show, HBO, West End Theatre Awards, Milliken Breakfast Show, Jacob’s Pillow, several films, TV series. BUSINESS THEATRE: Coca-Cola, Oldsmobile, Maytag). And, of course, Law and Order.
As an IATSE Stagehand, Diane was assistant electrician with Les Misérables at the Imperial Theatre/Broadway, also working backstage on Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera, The Life, and Titanic in electrics and sound.
Diane is co-artistic director of The American Musical Theatre Dance Company with Broadway choreographer Bob Richard. She is also a proud member of AEA, SAG-AFTRA, SDC, & IATSE (retired).
Diana Laurenson (she/her) is a choreographer, dance educator, triple-threat performer, co-artistic director and stagehand with over four decades of Broadway experience in the entertainment industry. Her immense body of work includes more than seven Broadway shows, numerous national and international tours, business and regional theatre, television, film, and master classes around the world, from the USA to Japan, New Zealand, China, Australia, Argentina, Mexico, France, Great Britain and Canada.
Early in her career, she had the privilege of working closely with Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon, as a dance captain, assistant and recréateur; then went on to inspire generations of students with her teaching, coaching and mentoring skills.
